Smashing Pumpkins New Concert Dates
October 14, 2008
The Pumpkins have unveiled a series of new dates for their fall 2008 tour. Buy your Smashing Pumpkins tickets now and don’t fear the reaper! The Smashing Pumpkins tour dates are piling up but Smashing Pumpkins tickets are scarce and competition is fierce!
The new Smashing Pumpkins concert dates are hot, so make sure you grab your tix and hit the ground running. Following Neil and Pegi Young’s Bridge School Benefit concert in Mountain View, California the SPs will hit Cleveland on the first of November and on to new pastures.
Chicago will see massive Pumpkin action November 18-19 at the Chicago Theatre and November 21-22 at the Auditorium Theatre, so be sure to get your foot in the door there, for what promises to be an awesome hometown Smashing Pumpkins concert.
The Pumpkins double-DVD live set of their 2007 San Francisco daze playing the Fillmore, entitled “If All Goes Wrong,” comes out on Nov. 11. The DVD features a “smashing” 105-minute doc as well as concert footage from those crazy Fillmore nights.
Billy Corgan recently said, “We went into the residencies hopeful to play some new music, with the idea I would write during the day and we could maybe even play new songs that same night. What I didn’t anticipate is how much the process would inspire me, positively and negatively, to report what I was seeing and feeling from the shows. The documentary shows that process in an interesting way that reveals the link between the band and our audience.”
If there ever was a band that deserved to be immortalized, it is the Smashing Pumpkins. I cannot wait to see this vid!!!
Smashing Pumpkins Tour 2-Night Format
October 8, 2008
Smashing Pumpkins concert schedule news was boosted this week when Rolling Stone announced that they were releasing the Smashing Pumpkins’ If All Goes Wrong two-disc DVD. The disc tracks the Pumpkins’ 2007 comeback tour and by all accounts it is a scorcher!
The 20th Anniversary tour is gonna be a blast, methinks. The format of the shows has been a definite talking point: A “2 night” format means the Pumpkins can perform the greatest number of songs over those 2 nights thereby allowing Smashing Pumpkins tickets holders to choose between one very distinct show and another. Not a song repeat over the 2 nights creates an awesome unique feel to each Pumpkins show. This means that true Pumpkins freaks might even buy Smashing Pumpkins tickets and attend both shows in their town, because the offering is simply so varied. The band have guaranteed that they won’t play the same songs over the course of the 2 nights and we believe them. In cities where there is only one stop on the Smashing Pumpkins concert tour, the band will play songs from the 2 night format plus a slew of other songs from their repertoire. I don’t know about you but I am looking forward to this Smashing Pumpkins 20th Anniversary tour!
